Search for a Sequential Artist

Toward the end of last year, on the anniversary of the completion of our successful Kickstarter campaign, I shared a Kickstarter update in which I revealed that Noor Rahman, the amazing artist who illustrated the first two issues, was leaving the project. Noor’s contributions to the undertaking were magnificent and he will be sorely missed, but Quest for the Last Tree will continue, because there’s a great deal of story still to be told about the adventures of Lucine and Asterion and the fate of Nightworld.

I have therefore embarked upon a quest of my own–to find an illustrator to take over  and illustrate issues #3 through #7, the remainder of the limited series. And behold, the first contender has submitted some character studies, which I will post here and on social media. They’re by a pencil artist named Collin Fogel. What do you think?

Issue #2 is Complete!

Milestone: Yesterday the PDF of Quest for the Last Tree #2 was made available exclusively to our Kickstarter project backers through a project update. This was momentous for artist Noor Rahman and for me, as we have both worked long and hard to produce this two-part story arc introducing Lucine, Asterion, and their world of everlasting night. We can’t wait to hear what people think!

For those who missed the Kickstarter campaign, don’t worry! In the days to come, the digital edition of Issue #2 will be made available through Amazon.com and Comixology. And as with the first issue, a print run will soon follow. With hard copies of both issues in hand, Conflux Comix will be ready to take the indie post-apocalyptic sci-fi/fantasy mash-up comic book scene by storm!

Eternal Gratitude In Effect

Newsflash! In the wake of our successful Kickstarter campaign, I’ve made some updates to the Quest for the Last Tree website.

For one thing, The Story page now includes a hi-rez preview of Issue #1: the first seven glorious pages. If you haven’t seen this already, be sure to check it out.

I’ve also added profile photos to the About the Artists page, so if you’re wondering what Noor and I look like, head over there and find out.

Most importantly, I’ve updated the Wall of Eternal Gratitude to include the names of our illustrious Kickstarter backers. The username of every single person who pledged to support our campaign has been inscribed there, and there it will remain until the end of time. To you, whose names appear on this wall: Thank you very much for your generous support. You rock!

If you missed the campaign, don’t worry. Quest for the Last Tree #1 is already available for purchase in the Amazon Kindle Store and on Comixology. Buy it! Read it! Love it!

The second issue will be coming to the web in early 2017. And print issues of both #1 and #2 will be available shortly thereafter. Embrace the apocalypse!

Hooray!

Not only was our Kickstarter campaign fully funded, but we passed all three of our Stretch Goals, which to be honest we had originally considered shooting for the stars. Well, in the end the stars got shot, and because of this success, we are thrilled to be able to deliver great comic books and merchandise to our supporters now, and to all our fans in the future.

QUEST FOR THE LAST TREE is coming!
